π Electron Magnetism: From Molecules to Magnetic Materials

October 1st 2009 in Physics

Jaume Veciana, "π-Electron Magnetism: From Molecules to Magnetic Materials"Springer | 2001 | ISBN: 3540416803 | 212 pages | PDF | 6 MBThe series Structure and Bonding publishes critical reviews on topics of research concerned with chemical structure and bonding. The scope of the series spans the entire Periodic Table and addresses structure and bonding issues associated with all of the elements. It also focuses attention on new and developing areas of modern structural and theoretical chemistry such as nanostructures, molecular electronics, designed molecular solids, surfaces, metal clusters and supramolecular structures. Physical and spectroscopic techniques used to determine, examine and model structures fall within the purview of Structure and Bonding to the extent that the focus is on the scientific results obtained and not on specialist information concerning the techniques themselves. Issues associated with the development of bonding models and generalizations that illuminate the reactivity pathways and rates of chemical processes are also relevant. The individual volumes in the series are thematic. The goal of each volume is to give the reader, whether at a university or in industry, a comprehensive overview of an area where new insights are emerging that are of interest to a larger scientific audience. Thus each review within the volume critically surveys one aspect of that topic and places it within the context of the volume as a whole. The most significant developments of the last 5 to 10 years should be presented using selected examples to illustrate the principles discussed. A description of the physical basis of the experimental techniques that have been used to provide the primary data may also be appropriate, if it has not been covered in detail elsewhere. The coverage need not be exhaustive in data, but should rather be conceptual, concentrating on the new principles being developed that will allow the reader, who is not a specialist in the area covered, to understand the data presented. Discussion of possible future research directions in the area is welcomed.Celebrating Volume 100: Thirty years ago Springer-Verlag together with a distinguished Board of Editors started the series Structure and Bonding. Initially the series was set up to publish reviews from different fields of modern inorganic chemistry, chemical physics and biochemistry, where the general subject of chemical bonding involves a metal and a small number of associated atoms. Three years ago the aims of the series was refined to span the entire periodic table and address structure and bonding issues wherever they may be relevant. Not only the traditional areas of chemical bonding will be dealt with but also nanostructres, molecular electronics, supramolecular structure, surfaces and clusters. With these aims in mind it is noteworthy that Volume 100 effectively reinforces and illustrates these ideals and is titled Pi-Electron Magnetism from Molecules to Magnetic Materials.Chapters in this volume:- An Organic Radical Crystal Showing Spontaneous Ferromagnetic Order- The Mechanism of the Through-Space Magnetic Interactions in Purely Organic Molecular Magnets- Metal-Aminoxyl-Based Molecular Magnets- Magnetic Properties of Thiazyl Radicals- Magnetism in Fullerene Derivatives- Molecular Compounds Showing a Spin Ladder Behaviourdepositfiles.comuploading.commirrorNot all books on AvaxHome appear on the homepage. In order not to miss many of them follow ebooks section (see top of each page on AH)and visittoo :)NO MIRRORS according tothe rules

Festkörperphysik

September 30th 2009 in Physics

To start click HERE:mirror

Über die spezielle und die allgemeine Relativitätstheorie

September 30th 2009 in Physics

September 30th 2009 in Physics

In order not to miss many of them follow ebooks section (see top of each page on AH)and visittoo :)NO MIRRORS according tothe rules

Solids Under High Pressure Shock Compression – R.A. Graham

September 30th 2009 in Physics

Solids Under High-Pressure Shock Compression by R.A. GrahamSpringer-Verlag Berlin and Heidelberg GmbH & Co. K | 1993 | Pages: 232 pages | ISBN: 3540978852 | Type: Djvu | 1.90MbSince the 1950s shock compression research contributed greatly to scientific knowledge and industrial technology. As a result, for example, our understanding of meteorite impacts has substantially improved, and shock processes have become standard industrial methods in materials synthesis and processing. Investigations of shock-compressed matter involve physics, electrical engineering, solid mechanics, metallurgy, geophysics and materials science. The description of shock-compressed matter presented here, which is derived from physical and chemical observations, differs significantly from the classical descriptions derived from strictly mechanical characteristics. This volume, with over 900 references, provides an introduction for scientists and engineers interested in the present state of shock compression science. High Pressure Shock Compression of Solids VI – Yasuyuki Horie, Lee Davison, Naresh Thadani

September 30th 2009 in Physics

High-Pressure Shock Compression of Solids VI by Yasuyuki Horie, Lee Davison, Naresh ThadaniSpringer | 1st edition | 2003 | Pages: 368 pages | ISBN: 0387955321 |Type: Djvu |6.59MbBoth experimental and theoretical investigations make it clear that mesoscale materials, that is, materials at scales intermediate between atomic and bulk matter, do not always behave in ways predicted by conventional theories of shock compression. At these scales, shock waves interact with local material properties and microstructure to produce a hierarchy of dissipative structures, such as inelastic deformation fields, randomly distributed lattice defects, and residual stresses. A macroscopically steady planar shock wave is neither plane nor steady at the mesoscale. The chapters in this book examine the assumptions underlying our understanding of shock phenomena and present new measurements, calculations, and theories that challenge these assumptions. They address such questions as: – What are the experimental data on mesoscale effects of shocks, and what are the implications? – Can one formulate new mesoscale theories of shock dynamics? – How would new mesoscale theories affect our understanding of shock-induced phase transitions or fracture? – What new computational models will be needed for investigating mesoscale shocks? High Pressure Semiconductor Physics I, Volume 54 – William Paul, Tadeusz Suski, Robert K. Willardson, Eicke R. Weber

September 30th 2009 in Physics

High Pressure Semiconductor Physics I, Volume 54 by William Paul, Tadeusz Suski, Robert K. Willardson, Eicke R. WeberAcademic Press | 1st edition | 1998 | Pages: 577 pages | ISBN: 0127521623 | Type: PDF | 26.2MbSince its inception in 1966, the series of numbered volumes known as Semiconductors and Semimetals has distinguished itself through the careful selection of well-known authors, editors, and contributors. The “Willardson and Beer” Series, as it is widely known, has succeeded in publishing numerous landmark volumes and chapters. Not only did many of these volumes make an impact at the time of their publication, but they continue to be well-cited years after their original release. Recently, Professor Eicke R. Weber of the University of California at Berkeley joined as a co-editor of the series. Professor Weber, a well-known expert in the field of semiconductor materials, will further contribute to continuing the series’ tradition of publishing timely, highly relevant, and long-impacting volumes. Some of the recent volumes, such as Hydrogen in Semiconductors, Imperfections in III/V Materials, Epitaxial Microstructures, High-Speed Heterostructure Devices, Oxygen in Silicon, and others promise indeed that this tradition will be maintained and even expanded.Reflecting the truly interdisciplinary nature of the field that the series covers, the volumes in Semiconductors and Semimetals have been and will continue to be of great interest to physicists, chemists, materials scientists, and device engineers in modern industry.Volumes 54 and 55 present contributions by leading researchers in the field of high pressure semiconductors. Edited by T. Suski and W. Paul, these volumes continue the tradition of well-known but outdated publications such as Brigman’s The Physics of High Pressure (1931 and 1949) and High Pressure Physics and Chemistry edited by Bradley.Volumes 54 and 55 reflect the industrially important recent developments in research and applications of semiconductor properties and behavior under desirable risk-free conditions at high pressures. These developments include the advent of the diamond anvil cell technique and the availability of commercial piston–cylinder apparatus operating at high hydrostatic pressures. These much-needed books will be useful to both researchers and practitioners in applied physics, materials science, and engineering.
